Attention: la rhubarb!

First of all, sorry for English (my writing in French is weak) and congratulations for a great site! I liked the idea of Fruit of the month and Veg of the month! But I also believe that it would be good to mention for this not so popular vegetable (yes, it is a vegetable!) that ONLY stem of the culinary rhubarb should be consumed, since leaves are poisonous. Unfortunately, on the market I buy it always with leaves. P.S.: As for origin of rhubarbe, it arrived to Russia from China, with caravans of the Great Silk Road. |

Dear Stella, Thanks for yout input. Actually, some people consider rhubarb as fruit and not vegetable. But you are right about the leaves consumption, only the stem is edible. Anyways, thanks for your feedback. Pierre-Olivier |
